The road to home, part 02
Feb. 9th, 2021 12:10 pmThe next few days she reached out during her meditations to talk more with the other woman. She discovered many things that soured the job. The woman was not alone, as it turned out, but was the latest in a collection of women and children the gang had kidnapped; nearly all of them sensitive to the Force to some degree. Some had been acquired by honest means, though the job they were hired for certainly soured as quickly as Asajj's had. More had been kidnapped.
It didn't take much persuasion for Asajj to decide she had a new job and that it was one that would not be paying...unless you counted the vessel they would need to steal as compensation.
She played it cool. The cold bounty hunter who wouldn't mingle with the gang but kept to herself. She did her rounds as agreed upon when she was hired, but all the while she was evaluating the gang's strengths, what ships would best serve, where supplies were kept, and most important of all, the drinking habits of the gang.
They weren't too unprofessional. She had to give them that. They always had at least a squad of ten guards sober no matter how much the other drank. Normally, the ten would be nothing to bother herself over but with a great many women to protect, she had to be thoughtful.
She also studied the layout and construction of the palace the gang used. Weak points, choke passages, and possible escape routes. The large windows were tempting but then she discovered the sheer drop of many stories outside them. Wonderful view though.
